Council and Council’s committees meet regularly to make decisions. Our Code of Meeting Practice explains how meetings operate and how you can be involved.
Residents are encouraged to participate. You can register to speak at a public forum on any item on an agenda by completing the Request to Speak at a Public Forum Form. Speakers may attend public forums in person or remotely at the discretion of the General Manager.
Meetings and public forums are held at Georges River Civic Centre, corner of Dora and MacMahon Streets, Hurstville (Dragon Room, Level 1).

Committees and Panels
On 4 October 2017, Council resolved to establish the following Committees which will be held on the second Monday of the month:
Committees provide specialist insight and assist Council in making decisions. We have four standing committees and three advisory committees as per below.
Standing committees:
- Assets and Infrastructure Committee.
- Finance and Governance Committee.
- Community and Culture Committee.
- Environment and Planning Committee.
Advisory committees:
- Floodplain Risk Management Committee.
- Georges River Local Traffic Advisory Committee.
- Georges River Council Sports Advisory Committee.

Public Forum
The public may register to speak on agenda items at the Public Forum being held on the following dates.

Calendar of Council Meetings
Ordinary Council Meetings are scheduled for the fourth Monday of each month, commencing at 7.00pm.
Extraordinary Council meetings are called when required.
