Council Meetings

Effective from 13 July 2021, Council meetings are not open to the public to attend in person.

To ensure compliance with the Public Health (COVID-19 Temporary Movement and Gathering Restrictions) Amendment (No 6) Order 2021 and Section 10 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council will continue to livestream Council meetings and accept written submissions from members of the public, to be read aloud in the Public Forum section of the agenda.

In accordance with Council’s resolution from 24 August 2020 (NM071-20), registered speakers now have the option of;

  • addressing the meeting remotely; OR
  • providing a written submission for staff to read to the relevant meeting.

Council will continue to livestream all Council and Committee meetings to meet the requirements of Section 10 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Council meets regularly to make decisions for the local government area. Council’s  Code of Meeting Practice explains how all meetings of Council operate and how you can comment on matters before Council.

Residents are encouraged to participate and can register to speak on any item on an agenda. To lodge a request to speak at a Council or Committee Meeting, please complete the Request to Speak at Council Meeting form.
