Council’s Event Grants Program provides local not-for-profit community organisations with the opportunity to apply for grant funding to support and strengthen the running of a community event held in the Georges River local government area.

The Event Grants Program objective is to build the capacity of local not-for-profit community organisations to deliver safe and compliant events that provide ongoing social, cultural and economic benefits to the Georges River community. 

Under this program Council can provide two types of support:

• Financial support,
• In-kind support – waiving of council fees and charges for events in parks and town centres.

Applications for an Event Grant must be received in conjunction with a Georges River Council Event Application Form. For more information, please see the Event Grant Guidelines and the Grants and Donation Policy.
 

Key Dates

Event Grants are currently open and close on Friday 11 September 2026.

Funding is available for eligible events taking place between November 2026 and January 2027.

Final grant decisions will be made by the end of September 2026. Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome via email by mid-October 2026.
