Grow it Local

We have partnered with Grow It Local to help the community grow, share and eat locally grown produce.

It's all about building more sustainable, resilient communities and reducing our impact on the environment.

Grow it Local is a free online food growing community. You can learn to grow, connect and share with other backyard, balcony, community garden and window-sill gardeners.

Verge Garden Program

If you’re interested in gardening but don’t have your own garden, you can still participate and take full advantage of ‘Grow it Local’ by registering in Council’s Verge Garden Program.
The Verge Garden Program (the Program) enables residents and businesses to plant and garden on the street verge, also commonly known as the “nature strip”.
To start a verge garden, you simply have to register and follow the guidelines. Visit Council’s Verge Garden Program webpage for more information.
