Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Strategy

This strategy reflects Council's commitment to recognising the unique histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It was developed through extensive consultation with Bidjigal Traditional Owners, Council’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who live, work and meet in the Georges River area, and Council staff.
The strategy will help us work toward a future that respects cultural protocols and values diversity. It supports cultural preservation, and empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
