Profile and information

Councillor Ben Wang is in his second term on Georges River Council. He was first elected as a Councillor in December 2021.

Councillor Wang, with a high-tech and finance background, leads an IT team at a prominent Australian bank.

He settled in Hurstville in 1998 and has served the local community for over a decade.

He is committed to supporting local businesses and the night-time economy. He also wants to fix traffic and parking issues in the Georges River Local Government Area.

Councillor Wang is a Multicultural Ambassador for the Salvation Army. He is also a member of the Regional Community Network for Greater Sydney (South) under Multicultural NSW.

Councillor Wang’s focus is on building a strong economy. He wants to build a vibrant, eco-friendly community for Hurstville and the Georges River LGA.

His main focus is the community’s interests and values. He works with fellow councillors and stakeholders to reach these goals. 

Councillor Wang is a member of the Community and Culture Committee, and Assets and Infrastructure Committee.
