Profile and information

Councillor Hayes is serving his first term as a Councillor for Mortdale Ward in 2025. He brings with him a wealth of experience in community engagement and service delivery.

Cr Hayes first moved to Penshurst in 1973 and returned with his family in 2008. Since then, he has remained involved in the community. He has formerly served as a P&C President at Penshurst Public School.

In the last ten years, Cr Hayes has worked extensively in employment services. He has also contributed to the Parklands Councils Inter-agencies in Western Sydney. Cr Hayes is an active member of the Lugarno Lions Club and the Kingsgrove-Beverly Hills Branch of the Labor Party. He has a strong commitment to community initiatives.

Cr Hayes holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. He also ran a successful small business in facilities maintenance. Cr Hayes prioritises transparency and easier access to elected representatives. He aims to achieve real results that benefit the local community.
