Storyshare Q+A Session with Chris Elder (Council Led Event)

31/05/2024 - Hurstville Library and Service Centre

Are you wanting to get a start in filmmaking? Do you have a passion for creating videos but unsure how to take the next steps into the industry? Join us for a Q+A session with local film-maker Chris Elder and learn how he got his start in the competitive world of filmmaking.

Chris, who professionally goes by “Elder”, recently took out the Australian spot in a global search by Ed Sheeran for film-clips to accompany his album “Autumn Variations”.  Elder’s clip for “Amazing” is a highly personal work, which interweaves three separate storylines about alienation and disaffection into a heart-warming tale of redemption that takes in many local landmarks as well as his family home.

Elder will be taking you through his process for putting this clip together, as well as showcasing some of his favourite projects, taking you on his journey from growing-up in Carss Park to working on videos with some of the biggest names in Australian and international music including Polaris, Peking Duck and Illy.

This session will end with a half-hour Q+A session with Elder, where you will have a chance to ask him questions about his creative journey and what it takes to make a career in the arts.
