After School Program: CodeCamp - Session 2 (Council Led Event)

PLEASE NOTE: This is the same program offered starting 7 May, 2024. If you participated in the first program, your booking for this series will be cancelled.

Join us in Term 2 and learn basic video game coding. This four week program for 8 to 12 year olds will teach basic concepts like functions, branches, algorithms, variables, and game logic through a series of hands on activities. Participants will also get access to Code Camp World to continue tinkering outside the workshop. No experience is required.
 
About the facilitator

CodeCamp is a Sydney-based children’s technology educator with over a decade of experience in teaching STEM to school-aged children in after school programs, holiday camps, and online. Their programs develop skills seen in the digital technology component of the National Curriculum, and provide opportunities for children to continue developing their new knowledge at home.

More information 

  • All materials and equipment will be provided. 
  • ​​For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.   
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue. 
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces and repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations, bookings may be refused in the future. 
  • The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
