Under Section 100 of the Food Act, all food business owners must notify Council:

• Before starting to trade as a food business.

• If your business details change.

• If you stop operating your food business.

To notify Council, choose the option below that best fits your situation.
 

Retail food business 

• New food business - You have a brand-new food premises.

• New Business owners - You have taken over an existing food premises.

• Change of details - Your food business details have changed.

• Cease to operate - You have sold or closed your food business.
   

Home-Based Food Business 

• New food business - you have approval and are starting a new food business from home.

• Change of details - Your food business details have changed.

• Cease to operate - You have sold or closed your food business.

Temporary Food Business (Food Stall or Mobile Food Vehicle) 

• Temporary Food Permit - Apply for a lifetime temporary food Permit with Georges River Council.

• Change of details - Your food business details have changed.

• Cease to operate - You have sold or closed your food business.

Note: If you run a stall or mobile food vehicle that stays in one location for a long period of time, it is not considered a temporary food business. You must register as a retail food business.
