Youth Week and GRYFest

What is Youth Week?

Youth Week is a week-long celebration in April. It's organised by young people, for young people, in communities all over the state. Youth Week became a national event in 2000.

Youth Week 2026 will be held from Thursday 16 April 2026 to Sunday 26 April 2026

For more information, visit the NSW Government Youth Week webpage.

How does Council celebrate Youth Week?

‘GRYFest’ (Georges River Youth Festival) is designed in consultation with Council’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and local youth services. This way, it meets the needs and interests of local youth.

Every year, engaging programs are offered to give young people access to the beautiful and inclusive facilities and green spaces in the local area. They can also enjoy the talents of up-and-coming amateur musicians connected to Georges River.
