HSC Rescue

HSC Rescue is a free support program for Year 12 students in the Georges River area. It’s organised by health, youth, and community groups like South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, Georges River Council, headspace, 3Bridges Youth Zone, and The Family Co.

HSC Rescue aims to support students doing the Higher School Certificate (HSC). It helps them manage stress, care for their wellbeing, and find a balanced way to study.

What’s provided

During HSC Rescue sessions students can expect:

  • A calm, supportive environment where they can take a break from study.

  • Wellbeing and stress management support. Including mindfulness exercises, craft activities, sensory sessions, and general mental health support.

  • Free food like pizza or snacks to keep energy up while studying.

  • Peer connection and community connection. A chance to meet and study alongside other HSC students, reducing isolation and offering mutual support.

  • Free access - the program is free to attend, and sessions are generally drop-in (no booking required).
