A weed is any invasive plant that is declared noxious under the Biosecurity Act 2015. To be declared noxious, the weed must have a detrimental impact on human or animal health, the environment or agriculture.
Managing Noxious Weeds
In order to restrict the spread of serious weeds Council is authorised to request land occupiers to control noxious weeds on their properties.
