Planning Proposal Request

To amend the Georges River Local Environmental Plan 2021 by:

  • Listing No. 80 Boronia Parade, Lugarno as a heritage item in Schedule 5 Environmental heritage; and
  • Mapping No. 80 Boronia Parade, Lugarno as “Item – General” on the Heritage Map.

The Planning Proposal does not seek to amend the zoning, FSR, height nor any other LEP provisions relating to the Site.
 

Status

  • Considered by the Georges River Local Planning Panel on 17 February 2022.  
  • Considered by Councils Environment and Planning Committee on 14 March 2022.
  • On 28 March 2022 Council resolved to forward the Planning Proposal to the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) for a Gateway Determination.
  • On 29 March 2022 the Planning Proposal was forwarded to the DPE for a Gateway Determination.  
  • A Gateway Determination was received on 6 April 2022.
  • The original DA (DA2021/0181) for subdivision of the site into 31 residential lots, demolition works and the construction of new roads, drainage and tree removal was withdrawn on 24 May 2022 and the appeal with the NSW Land and Environment Court discontinued.
  • The Planning Proposal was on public exhibition from Wednesday 4 May 2022 to Friday 3 June 2022.
  • Considered by Council's Environment and Planning Committee on 11 July 2022. 
  • Considered by Council on 2 August 2022. 
  • As part of a separate Notice of Motion (NM066-22) on 2 August 2022, Council also resolved to support the listing of “Glenlee” on the State Heritage Register by lodging a submission with the Heritage Council of NSW, and encourage residents and organisations to also support the listing of “Glenlee” on the State Heritage Register.
  • The Planning Proposal has been referred to the DPE for finalisation.
  • On 18 August 2022 Council wrote to ministers Mr James Griffin MP, Minister for Environment and Heritage, Mr Anthony Roberts MP, Minister for Planning and Minister for Homes, Ms Tanya Plibersek MP, Minister for the Environment and Water, and Ms Linda Burney MP, Minister for Indigenous Australians requesting funding to purchase Glenlee.
  • Notified/commenced on Friday 23 September 2022.
