Have Your Say on Caledonia Crescent Reserve Naming Proposal

31/07/2025

Georges River Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on a proposal to officially name the public reserve located on Caledonia Crescent in Peakhurst.

The local green space includes a small playground, park seating and plenty of shade, offering a quiet place for families and residents to enjoy. While commonly referred to as Caledonia Crescent Reserve, the name has not yet been formally registered.

Official naming of the reserve will improve wayfinding on maps, support emergency and essential services in locating the site, and ensure consistency across Council documents and mapping systems.

The proposed name is consistent with the NSW Geographical Names Board Place Naming Policy, which encourages names that reflect longstanding local usage and clearly describe a site’s location.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “Caledonia Crescent Reserve is a wonderful natural green space for our community.

“By formalising its name, we’re making sure it’s easier to find and enjoy, while strengthening the sense of place it holds for local families.

“I encourage residents to take part in the consultation, provide feedback on the proposed name, and share their personal connection to the reserve.”

The public consultation period is open until Wednesday, 7 August 2025.
