My Aged Care
If you are over 65 years old or over 50 years old for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, you may be eligible for government-funded services. There are different types of services for different needs, including help at home, short-term care and residential aged care.

Seniors Program
The Georges River Seniors Program runs five days a week from different community halls in the area. Our support enables groups to run a variety of regular free or low-cost programs and activities. To find out more, visit the Seniors Program web page.
Home Library Service
Georges River Libraries Home Library offers free delivery of library materials to people who have difficulties visiting libraries in person. A referral is required from a doctor, health care professional, social worker or nursing service stating that you have difficulty visiting one of our libraries in person.

Community Transport
St George Community Transport (STGCT) is a government funded, not-for-profit organisation which provides quality, affordable and safe transport in Sydney’s South. They also do select runs outside the St George area.

Lawn Mowing and Gardening Care
My Aged Care offer support with a number of options for basic garden and lawn mowing assistance. To be eligible you must be registered with My Aged Care. You can get in contact with My Aged Care using any of the following ways:
Nature Strip Maintenance
Nature strips are the Council-owned land located between the constructed road and private property.
It is the responsibility of the property owner/resident to maintain the nature strips directly outside their house. This includes front, side and rear grassed nature strips.
Where there is an instance of an overgrown nature strip, Council will contact the property owners and direct them to tend to the nature strip as soon as possible and maintain it on a regular basis.
