Media Lab: Introduction to Adobe Illustrator

Unlock your inner creative and get designing with an introduction to Adobe Illustrator! Led by Daniel Scott, in this session, you will explore all the basic tips and tricks of Illustrator, the go-to software for graphic designers.
Discover the advantages of vector graphics and why Illustrator is the tool of choice. Learn how to get started setting up documents, draw and edit shapes, use tools for stroke width, gradient, and pathfinding, as well as typography. Through practical exercises you will get hands-on experience setting up your own document, creating a logo, and polishing off your design.
Adobe Illustrator is available to use free for members of Georges River Libraries in the Media Lab at Hurstville Library.
About the Facilitator:
As a photo and video professional, Daniel has had a wide and storied career. Working on everything from event and portrait photography, to high end feature films for international broadcasters and streamers, there's not much he hasn't seen or done. He has a deep understanding and appreciation for both the creative and technical sides of his craft, and a knack for explaining even the most arcane concepts in a way people can easily understand. He loves bringing his knowledge and experience to other creatives, whether professional, aspiring or hobbyist.
About the Media Lab and Digital Tools collection:
The Media Lab boasts a professional studio set up with a cyclorama wall, green screens, studio lights and Surface Studios with the full Adobe Creative Suite. The digital tool library contains cameras, recording equipment and other digital accessories that can be borrowed for free with your library membership.
