International Games Month Get Crafty: Create a Fantasy Map with Rice

This is a Council led event.

05/11/2025 - Clive James Library and Service Centre.

Create your own fantasy map using rice in this hands-on workshop.

Do you love maps, and always wanted to draw your own? Decorative maps of imaginary realms can inspire and illustrate your own storytelling or be used to decorate your space. At this workshop we will explore the poured rice fantasy mapmaking craft you may have seen on your socials at your library.

Join us in International Games Month to learn everything you need to create your own fantasy map using poured rice, paper, ink, and watercolour - with no drawing experience needed!

We will walk you through each step of this fun creative process, and you will finish the workshop with your very own fantasy map!

This event is suitable for ages 16 years and over.
