Gamble Aware Information Session (Chinese)

This is a Council led event.

24/10/2025 - Hurstville Library

Gambling is part of everyday life for many Australians, yet its risks are often underestimated. This free GambleAware information session provides a clear, practical overview of gambling in New South Wales, helping communities understand both its appeal and its potential harms.

The information session will explore what gambling is and how it is regulated in NSW and why people gamble, from entertainment to coping mechanisms. Participants will learn about the impacts of gambling harm, not just financially but also on health, relationships, and wellbeing.

Drawing on current data, the presentation outlines who gambles in NSW and highlights the possible signs of harmful gambling that may affect friends, family, or colleagues. Importantly, the session explains how counselling and support can help those experiencing difficulties and provides practical strategies on how to raise the issue of gambling harm in a supportive and non-judgemental way.
