In 2026, Hurstville Museum & Gallery will showcase an exhibition on Nepalese migration. It will share stories from the Nepalese community in the St George area.

Through personal stories, cultural objects, photographs, art, and contemporary and historical materials, the exhibition will explore Nepalese migration stories and the contemporary Nepalese community of the Georges River region. It will also showcase Nepalese culture including history, music, art, and religion and more.

We invite the Nepalese community and those with connections to join us. You can share stories, ideas, donate objects or loan items for temporary display in the exhibition. Your contributions will help bring this exhibition to life.

We recognise this very personal request and are aware of the sensitivities around the theme of the exhibition. That’s why we’re reaching out to the community. We want to make sure their voices and perspectives are represented in a genuine and meaningful way.
