Trips and Falls

Footpaths

Georges River Council, as the local roads authority, oversees the management and upkeep of footpaths within our area. We use a proactive approach to footpath care, which includes:

  • Regular inspections of our footpath network.
  • Ongoing assessment of damaged areas.
  • Prioritisation of repair work based on need and safety concerns.

If you have noticed a trip hazard, please submit the request form below so we can inspect and repair.

Please note that footpaths along arterial or State roads fall under the responsibility of Transport for NSW (TfNSW), not the Council.

Our team is committed to maintaining safe and accessible pedestrian pathways throughout the Georges River area.

Other Council Locations

Council owns and maintains different properties within the Local Government Area (LGA), including parks, reserves and plazas.

Should you believe that Council is responsible for a trip and fall incident at any Council locations, and wish to pursue a claim for compensation, you'll need to submit a formal Injury or Damage Compensation Claim Form. See below.
