Tree Removal located on Truman Street, South Hurstville.

Public Notices 22/09/2025

At its meeting on Monday 25 August 2025, Georges River Council resolved to proceed with the removal of the Eucalyptus microcorys (Tallowwood) located on Truman Street, South Hurstville.

While Council recognises the important role trees play within the Local Government Area, the decision to remove this tree was not made lightly. The tree has been subject to multiple assessments over time, and the decision follows extensive consideration and external advice.

Georges River Council is committed to enhancing its urban canopy, as per its Tree Management Policy. It prioritises practical tree retention, considering tree removal as a last resort, and encourages planting a diverse mix of appropriate tree species to maximise the sustainability and resilience of the urban forest across the LGA.
