Original Notice – 22 October 2026
The elevated boardwalk and connecting footpath between upper and lower Gannons Park are temporarily closed due to damage.
The closure extends from the Lomandra Wall to the southern end of Gannons Park and is in place for community safety.
Council has installed signage at park entrances, access points, bush tracks and the closure points. These signs advise park users of the closure before they reach the affected area and identify where public access ends.
Council is arranging repairs and will provide an update when the repair schedule and expected reopening date are confirmed. Community members must not enter the closed area and should follow all signs and directions in place.
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank the community for its patience while the boardwalk is made safe.
For more information, please contact Georges River Council Customer Service on (02) 9330 6400.
