Council will be undertaking emergency removal of a large Ficus tree located at 148 Penshurst Street, Penshurst. This removal is necessary due to a significant structural fault.

The tree now presents a serious risk to public safety and nearby private property. After thorough assessment, removal has been deemed the only safe option.

Works are scheduled to commence on Wednesday 1 October 2025 or Thursday 2 October 2025. This is subject to weather and operational conditions.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, the scale of the works may result in minor traffic delays. Traffic control measures will be in place and managed in accordance with best practice standards.

Council will plant a new tree in line with the Street Tree Master Plan. This is expected to happen within three months of the removal.
