Have Your Say: Woodville Park Spatial Framework

18/09/2025

Georges River Council is inviting the community to help shape the future of Woodville Park, Hurstville, through the development of a new Spatial Framework.

A much-loved part of the Georges River community, Woodville Park has been a place for recreation, relaxation and connection since it opened in 1930. Today, the park features a playground, picnic facilities, exercise equipment, public toilets, open grass areas and walking paths, making it a popular destination for families and local residents.

The Spatial Framework will provide a long-term plan for the park’s development, guiding future improvements and ensuring facilities continue to meet the needs of the community.

This Framework builds on the recent upgrade of the Woodville Park playground, completed earlier this year.  The upgraded playground offers a safe, engaging space for children and families, designed using best-practice inclusive design principles and shaped by community feedback.

Council is now looking to the wider park and is seeking feedback from the community to understand how Woodville Park is used, which features residents enjoy, and what changes or improvements could make it even better.

Georges River Mayor Elise Borg said, “Woodville Park has been part of our community for nearly a century.

“The upgraded playground shows how valuable community feedback can be, creating a space where children and families can play safely and inclusively.

“The Spatial Framework is an exciting opportunity to plan for the future of the wider space. I encourage residents, park users and local groups to take part in the consultation and help shape a park the community can enjoy for years to come.”

The public consultation period is open until Monday 29 September 2025.
