‘Snakes and mirrors’: Collage workshop

This is a Council led event.

14/03/2026 - Hurstville Museum & Gallery.

Explore the current Main Gallery exhibition featuring Petrina Hicks’s striking large-scale photographs, then respond creatively in this hands-on collage workshop lead by the Sydney Collage Society.

Using the exhibition as inspiration, participants will develop a deeper understanding of contemporary collage, exploring colour, shape, form, texture, and image placement. The workshop engages with themes of animals, the female experience, and the environment.

Led by Kubi Vasak, an experienced collage artist and member of the Sydney Collage Society, the session offers access to an extensive range of materials, including over 100 books and vintage magazines, to help bring your ideas to life.

This welcoming workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience. Participants are invited to connect, learn, and create in a supportive environment. The session will conclude with a gallery-style showcase, celebrating everyone’s work.
