School Holiday Program: Let's Make Comics! (7-12 years)
This is a Council led event.

This introduction to comic book storytelling is designed to engage young creators of any experience level. It doesn’t matter if you are new to comics or already love them, this session gets you drawing within minutes!
Through hands on examples, you will learn how comics work, the power of combining words and pictures, as well as the tools available to the comic book creator. Then you will unleash your newfound skills through scripting and drawing your own one-page comic.
You will learn:

What makes a comic a comic.

How sequencing images changes their meaning.

How to identify panel gutters and their storytelling function.

Basic story structure.

How to write and draw a simple one-page comic script.
