School Holiday Program: Introduction to Scriptwriting for Teens (13-17 years)

This is a Council led event.

13/07/2026 - Hurstville Library

Introduction to Scriptwriting for Teens is a dynamic, hands-on workshop that opens the door to writing for stage and screen. Designed for teenagers, it offers a supportive, low-pressure space where creativity, collaboration, and experimentation are encouraged.

Participants will dive into the fundamentals of visual storytelling and learn how to shape ideas into compelling scenes using storytelling skills such as structure, character, and conflict to bring stories to life through action, imagery, and authentic dialogue. They will also gain practical skills in script formatting and writing software.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created their own short, scripted scene and developed a confident understanding of how stories translate from the page to a visual medium, setting the stage for future creative projects.
