Watercolour Landscapes: Exploring place through paint.

Landscapes hold memories: the places we've been, the views we return to, the natural spaces that ground us. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll explore watercolour as a medium for capturing the essence of place.

Bring a photo of a landscape that matters to you (even just on your phone) of a favourite beach, childhood garden, local park, or holiday view. Using foundational watercolour techniques you’ll then translate it onto paper. We'll cover washes, gradients, lifting paint, and playful mark-making to create skies, water, trees, and texture.

What you'll learn:

  • Basic watercolour techniques: washes, gradients, lifting, organic mark-making.

  • How to approach painting a landscape from a photo.

  • Working with the fluid, spontaneous nature of watercolour.

What you'll create: A unique watercolour landscape inspired by a meaningful place.

No experience needed, this is a beginner-friendly session for adults. Please bring an inspirational photo. This can be on your device or a physical printed photo.
