Media Lab: Lo-Fi / Hi-Vibe Recording Techniques

Are you an aspiring musician looking to boost your production and recording skills? Learn about recording music and explore how to get the best sounds out of limited resources.
Participants will gain hands-on experience recording others, being recorded by others, and recording with others through a variety of activities, exercises, and experiments. Grow your technical and creative know-how for making music.
Participants will:

Learn to set up, test, and use microphones.

Develop skills in creating a solid rhythm base and to record in time without a click track.

Be introduced to workflow tips and tricks, and techniques like overdubbing, and double tracking.

Experience the creative magic of collaboration and experimentation, trying your own ideas and others’.

About the facilitator:
Tito Espinosa is a songwriting, guitar playing, record producing, music/film/art nerd from New York City. His passion for folk and blues music has given him a distinct people-centred approach to teaching. For years Tito performed as Chorizo Slim and The Boogie Blues Band and now he releases music through his small label Boogie Strange Records.
