Media Lab: Introduction to 3D Animation

This International Games Month get started with 3D animation!  In this hands-on workshop, explore the fundamentals of animation, from keyframes and timelines to natural motion and easing, before creating your own animated project using the free and easy-to-use online design tool Spline.
 
In this session, participants will:

  • Be introduced to keyframes and discover how they bring animations to life

  • Learn to animate objects using a timeline and use easing and curves to create natural motion

  • Explore Spline’s intuitive design tools and ready-made templates

  • Bring it all together to build an animated scene.

About the Facilitator:
Paul Kouppas is a highly regarded professional in the field of augmented reality and mixed reality. With extensive experience, Paul has successfully developed and executed numerous interactive projects for prominent brands. His expertise spans product design, real-time 3D, and immersive technology.

About the Media Lab and Digital Tools collection:
The Media Lab boasts a professional studio set up with a cyclorama wall, green screens, studio lights and Surface Studios with the full Adobe Creative Suite. The digital tool library contains cameras, recording equipment and other digital accessories that can be borrowed for free with your library membership.
