Library Lovers Day

This is a Council led event.

14/02/2026 - Hurstville Library.

Rediscover everything you love about the library with a full space takeover to welcome you back to Hurstville Library! We’re opening up every corner and collection for all ages to explore, celebrate, and enjoy.

Discover interactive experiences throughout the library, including VR drop-ins, green screen activations, sound recording and even give the decks a spin at our learn to DJ drop-in.

Families and kids will have plenty to enjoy, with our special Storytimes, a super scavenger hunt, an escape room challenge, and creative activities for all ages including bookmark and badge making, and Lego play.

Do you have old media formats like VHS tapes, cassettes, or film photos at home? Learn how to preserve and share those memories using our new Digitisation Station, with live demonstrations from the Library Research and Community History Team.

We’ll also unveil a new public artwork, and give you the chance to vote for the People’s Choice award in our Summer Photo Bingo exhibition. Complete as many activities as you can—there will be prizes and giveaways throughout the day!
