Georges River Council is excited to announce a new Subsidised Pet Desexing Program, now available to eligible residents in partnership with Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. Council supports responsible pet ownership within our community and by desexing your pet, you help reduce the number of unwanted animals ending up in shelters as well as improving your pet’s overall health and behaviour.
This program is available to owners of cats or dogs and will run until all vouchers are exhausted. Spots are limited, so we encourage residents to act quickly to secure their place. A maximum of 2 vouchers per household are available.

Desexed pets attract lower registration fees if desexed by the required age, saving you money in the long term.
Who is eligible?
Open to Georges River Council residents over 18 years of age (valid photo ID showing proof of residency is required upon booking). Proof of ownership for non-microchipped animals may be required.

Note: This program is available until end of May 2027 or until vouchers are exhausted, whichever happens first.

Submit a booking request through the link to our online form below or by contacting customer service.

Once the application form is submitted and confirmed, you will be provided desexing vouchers with information to book an appointment. All services offered will be completed at Sydney Dogs & Cats Home veterinary clinic in Strathfield.

Please be advised any no shows on the day of the appointment will have their desexing voucher immediately cancelled without exception.
