Creating Memorable NAIDOC Week Events

Join First Nations Economics and Georges River Council for a free practical workshop designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people involved in planning community events and celebrations.
Whether you're organising a family day, community gathering, market, exhibition or cultural activity, this workshop will help you build the skills and confidence to deliver successful events that are culturally grounded, well-organised and easy to report on.
Participants will explore:

Planning your event with purpose and community in mind.

Developing run sheets, roles and risk management plans.

Promoting events through trusted community channels.

Managing budgets, suppliers and records.

Gathering feedback and demonstrating impact.
-
Preparing reports and acquittals with confidence.
Participants will receive practical templates and a workbook to support future events and community activities.
The event will conclude with an optional walk on Country at Carss Bush Park led by Uncle Dean Kelly, a Yuin/Wailwan man and local Knowledge Holder.
This workshop is free and open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
