Learn about the aged care system in Australia and what your options and rights are.

This session will be presented in English. This information session will teach you about the aged care system in Australia and will include information about:

  • Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

  • Support at Home program.

  • Residential aged care.

  • Steps to accessing aged care, including the role of My Aged Care and the Single Assessment System.

  • Your aged care rights.

  • Service offered by Seniors Rights Services.

  • Understanding self-advocacy.

  • How an aged care advocate can help you.

  • Complaints and concerns about the aged care system.

The information session will be followed by a Q and A section at the end.

  • For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.

  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.

  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.

  • The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
