Get Crafty: Hand-Embroidered Bookmarks at Hurstville Library

This is a Council led event.

08/09/2026 - Hurstville Library.

Stitch a little bird to life and take home a bookmark you made by hand.

In this workshop you'll learn the basics of hand embroidery and use those skills to stitch your very own bird-themed fabric bookmark. We'll work through the key stitches together, then you'll decorate and adorn your bird in your own style.

Slow stitching is a technique worth having in your creative toolkit and known for its calming and relaxing effect. A great technique to discover or continue to explore.

In this workshop you'll:

  • Learn basic hand embroidery and slow stitching techniques.

  • Stitch a bird-themed fabric bookmark.

  • Decorate and adorn your bird in your own style.

  • Leave with a finished handmade bookmark to keep or gift.
