Portrait lighting workshop with Petrina Hicks

This is a Council led event.

21/03/2026 - Hurstville Museum & Gallery.

Join acclaimed artist Petrina Hicks for a hands-on photography workshop exploring studio lighting, backdrops, and a conceptual approach to portraiture.

The session begins with an introduction to studio lighting techniques for portrait photography, followed by a creative exploration of identity. Participants will experiment with mirrors, props, fabric, and found objects to create portraits that camouflage identity rather than reveal it, challenging traditional ideas of portraiture.

This is a rare opportunity to meet and learn from the artist behind the exhibition Snakes and Mirrors, currently on display at Hurstville Museum & Gallery until 19 April 2026.
