Georges River Council is currently working in partnership with the Lugarno Lions Club to identify a suitable location for their future Community Fair. Riverwood Park will not be available to host the event due to upcoming field reconstruction works.

The Riverwood Park Field Reconstruction Project is scheduled to commence in the 2025/26 financial year and will continue into 2026/27. The project will deliver significant upgrades across all four playing fields, including:

• Installation of new drainage and irrigation systems.
• Field resurfacing.
• Sports lighting upgrades.
• Construction of two new cricket wickets.

Once completed, Riverwood Park will feature improved safety and amenity, with consistent playing surfaces and enhanced lighting.

Council is openly communicating with the Lugarno Lions Club to explore alternative locations that can accommodate the event’s requirements. The Lugarno Lions Club has endorsed this collaborative approach, and discussions are ongoing to ensure the best possible outcome for the club and community.

We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we work towards a long-term solution that continues to celebrate and support local events.
