This all ages program invites kids and adults to play and learn together.
 
Build scenes out of LEGO and use fun everyday materials to create interesting effects.
 
Discover photography fun and capture cinematic shots using your smartphone camera.
 
This workshop includes:

• LEGO Cinematic tips: Learn how to use simple settings like portrait mode and manual focus to create depth, mood, and cinematic lighting in your photos.

• Low-Fi Light & Effects: Use handheld torches, foil, and colour gels to create custom lighting and special effects on a miniature scale.  

• Build a Mini World: Get creative with sand, leaves, and backdrops to build a custom environment for the LEGO characters.

• Working as a team: A fast, hands-on workshop where adults and kids collaborate and shoot images together.

• For participants aged 12 years and under, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program. For safety reasons, one parent/guardian can only be responsible for a maximum of 4 children (1:4 ratio).

• For participants under the age of 16, parent and/or guardian contact details must be provided at the time of booking.

• If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.

• If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.

• The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.

About the Facilitator:
This workshop is facilitated by local artist Mary-Helen Daly. She is a qualified Transpersonal Art Therapist & Counsellor who helps people become their own creative doorway.
