Job Shift: Managing Stress and Burnout in Difficult Times at Clive James Library, Kogarah
This is a Council led event.
03/10/2026 - Clive James Library, Kogarah.
Economic uncertainty, job insecurity, unemployment and increasing workloads can place significant pressure on individuals and families. When stress continues without enough opportunity for recovery, it can become difficult to switch off, maintain healthy routines or feel in control.
This Mental Health Month, join registered psychologist Nicholas Fifield for a practical and accessible workshop exploring how stress affects us and what we can do to respond effectively.
This interactive session will focus on realistic strategies that can be used during challenging periods.
In this workshop, you will learn:
-
The difference between healthy stress, ongoing overwhelm and burnout.
-
How to recognise early warning signs that stress is becoming difficult to manage.
-
Practical strategies for emotional regulation and recovery.
-
Simple grounding and mindfulness techniques that can be used during stressful moments.
-
How routines, boundaries and meaningful activities can support resilience.
-
Ways to manage overwork and create more sustainable patterns of effort and recovery.
-
How small, consistent habits can protect wellbeing during periods of uncertainty.
-
Realistic approaches to self-care
The session will include guided exercises and time for audience questions. This workshop is suitable for adults from all backgrounds. No previous knowledge or experience is required.
