Georges River Memory Walk & Jog

This is a Council led event.

26/09/2026 - Gannons Park, Peakhurst

Council is proud to host the Georges River Memory Walk & Jog, a Dementia Australia fundraiser for people impacted by dementia.

This event is during Dementia Action Week from 21 - 27 September. The theme for 2025 is ‘It's time to talk about dementia’. The Georges River Memory Walk & Jog is a time for the community to come together and support people with dementia and their carers in the community. In 2025 we raised over $22,000 for Dementia Australia with 300 participants.

Georges River Council is determined to beat dementia to the finish line by empowering you to raise funds for the 433,300 Australians living with dementia and 1.7 million people involved in their care.

This is an inclusive event and everyone is welcome to participate in the 3.3 km walk or the 6.6 km jog. Funds raised from tickets will be donated to Dementia Australia and used for counselling, education, support lines and research into a cure. If you or someone you know needs support, local organisations will be there to connect you to services.

There will be fun activities for the whole family, plus a free BBQ and coffee for the first 400 Memory Walk & Jog participants.

Come and learn about Councils recognition by Dementia Australia's Dementia-Friendly Communities program. Council's dementia-friendly action plan is our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive community.
