Aussie Bird Count Story Time (3-5 years)

This is a Council led event.

20/10/2026 - Carss Bush Park Playground

One kookaburra sitting in the old gumtree, two little blackbirds sitting on the wall, three French hens being gifted to my true love….we’ll be counting all kinds of birds at Carss Park to celebrate Birdlife Australia’s Aussie Bird Count this October!

Join the children’s team for story time at the park, where we’ll read bird books, sing bird songs, make bird crafts, and then put on our Citizen Scientist hats to do some bird watching.

Birdlife Australia’s Aussie Bird Count is a Citizen Scientist project where the public go birdwatching in their local area to help create data about Australia’s bird population. This data is used by professional scientists in their work to protect vulnerable species and improve biodiversity all over the country.
