Georges River Memory Walk & Jog

This is a Council led event.

20/09/2025 - Gannons Park, Peakhurst

Council is proud to host the Georges River Memory Walk & Jog, a Dementia Australia fundraiser for people impacted by dementia.

This event is during Dementia Action Week from 15 - 21 September. The theme for 2025 is ‘Nobody can do it alone’. The Georges River Memory Walk & Jog is a time for the community to come together and support people with dementia and their carers in the community.

Georges River Council is determined to beat dementia to the finish line by empowering you to raise funds for the 433,300 Australians living with dementia and 1.7 million people involved in their care.

This is an inclusive event and everyone is welcome to participate in the 3.3 km walk or the 6.6 km jog. Funds raised from tickets will be donated to Dementia Australia and used for counselling, education, support lines and research into a cure. Local support services will be present, come along to learn what support is available for residents of Georges River.

There will be fun activities for the whole family, plus a free BBQ and coffee for Memory Walk & Jog participants.

Come and learn about Councils recognition by Dementia Australia's Dementia-Friendly Communities program. Council's dementia-friendly action plan is our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive community.
