Construction Certificates

After a Development Application has been approved by Council, you must obtain a Construction Certificate before you commence work. A Construction Certificate confirms that:

  • Construction plans and specifications meet development standards, for example, those set by the Building Code of Australia.

  • Construction plans and specifications meet Council’s development consent.

A Construction Certificate can be obtained from Council or an accredited certifier. No works can occur until a Construction Certificate has been issued.

Our Construction Certificate Checklist will help you to ensure everything is completed before you commence building works.

Council has a professional team of accredited certifiers that can assist with your approval, inspections and advice.
