Notification for Riverwood Works

Public Notices 03/11/2023

Cyclists, commuters, and pedestrians, please take note of temporary closure of the Riverwood train station bike rack, steps and footpath area on William Road on from Tuesday 7 November to Thursday 9 November.
Alternative bike racks are available in front of the taxi rank on Belmore Road adjacent to the station and on the corner of Belmore Road and Thurlow Road.

The final piece of the Riverwood Reconnected town centre project will see the William Road car park next to Riverwood train station rejuvenated to put some spring in your step, with the footpath and access stairs to Belmore Road to be painted with a pattern of tree leaves to simulate leaves falling from the canopy above.

The decorative textured coating will add a splash of colour to the train station car park.

The bike rack, footpath area, and stairs will be closed for 3 days while these works are completed, with a minor pedestrian detour via the intersection of William Road and Morotai Street and Belmore Road footpath.

The temporary alternative pedestrian route is shown here and will also be signposted on onsite maps before and during the works.

These works will complete the Riverwood Reconnected town centre rejuvenation project, which was made possible through grant funding from the NSW Government’s Streets as Shared Spaces program.

Our project teams would like to thank the Riverwood community for their patience during these temporary detours. We hope you love your new shared spaces in Riverwood town centre as much as we do.

The Riverwood Reconnected project was made possible thanks to grant funding from the NSW Government's award-winning Streets as Shared Spaces (round 2) program, launched in 2020 to enhance public spaces across New South Wales.
