Council under Section 25 of the Heritage Act 1977 has made an Interim Heritage Order over the property at Lot 22, Section 15 DP1963, No. 28 Carlton Crescent Kogarah Bay. The Interim Heritage Order was gazetted on Friday 26 May 2023.

Under Section 28(1)(d) of the NSW Heritage Act 1977 Council is required to bring notice to the residents of Georges River Local Government Area that Council has made the Interim Development Order over No. 28 Carlton Crescent Kogarah Bay.

Council has applied an Interim Heritage Order over No. 28 Carlton Crescent Kogarah Bay as it is considered that the site may have potential heritage significance and that a ‘threat of harm’ exists having regard to DA2023/0025 lodged for the subdivision, demolition works and construction of new dwelling, outbuildings and ancillary works at Nos. 28 and 28A Carlton Crescent Kogarah.

The Interim Heritage Order will allow further heritage assessments to be undertaken to inform an understanding of the heritage significance of No. 28 Carlton Crescent Kogarah Bay and whether Council will proceed with an application for heritage listing.
