Improve your job seeking skills in the Library. 

Are you looking to take the next step in your career or change jobs entirely? 13-19 May is National Careers Week and to celebrate, we’re hosting Job Shift, an introductory workshop aimed at helping you develop your job seeking skills. 

Applying for jobs can be a daunting task, however there are a lot of helpful techniques which you can use to give you an edge in this competitive process.   

In this workshop you will:  

  • Learn how to create an eye-catching resume.

  • How to respond to position descriptions and targeted questions.

  • How to use the STAR technique to improve your responses to interview questions. 

Whether you are new to the job market or looking to take the next step in your career development, our Job Shift workshops will give you some valuable skills for improving your job-hunting skills.  

Shift gears with your career and join us for Job Shift this National Careers Week. 

Equipment: All materials and equipment will be provided. 

This event is suitable for all ages.

Terms and conditions:  

  • For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.  

  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue. 

  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
