Registrations open for Small Business Month’s Connect for Success networking event

Georges River Council and Bx Networking have opened registrations for the Small Business Month event, Connect for Success, on Wednesday 23 November 2022 at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.

As part of NSW Small Business Month this November, small business owners that work or reside in Georges River are invited to register for the free networking event.

The evening will include guest speakers on topics including resilience, health and wellbeing, strategies to increase preparedness for future times of crisis, and a chance to network with industry peers.

In February and March 2022, Georges River was one of many Local Government Areas adversely affected by severe weather and flooding which resulted in a ‘Disaster Declaration’ by the NSW Government.

Each council was allocated $1M under the Local Government Recovery Grants program, and $50,000 of this funding was granted to Council’s Community and Culture Directorate for the purpose of supporting local businesses in building resilience. It is more important than ever for small businesses to be resilient and agile in the face of unprecedented events.

Mayor Nick Katris said, “The 2022 Georges River Business Survey results have revealed ‘networking opportunities’ as one of the top responses to the question of how Council can support businesses and strengthen the local economy in coming years.

“Our Connect for Success event is a great opportunity for like-minded small business owners to network and learn about business resilience and wellbeing from experts.”

Attendees will be provided with an information pack and complimentary catering.
