Public Notices 22/01/2026

Georges River Council is implementing important traffic and safety improvements around Carlton South Public School to create a safer environment for students, families, and the wider community.

These changes will take effect on school days during morning drop‑off and afternoon pick‑up periods.

This will be a six month trial beginning from Monday 2 February 2026.

What’s Changing

1. Extension of the existing Kiss‑and‑Ride Zone – Ecole Street

  • The kiss‑and‑ride zone on Ecole Street has been expanded to support safer and more efficient student drop‑off and pick‑up.

  • Parents and carers must enter via Ecole Lane, continue into Ecole Street, and exit via Princes Highway after drop‑off or pick‑up.

2. No Left Turn from Princes Highway into Ecole Street

  • No left turn permitted
8.00am–9.30am and 2.30pm–4.00pm on school days.

  • Applies to all vehicles travelling north-west on Princes Highway.

  • Reversing from Ecole Street back into Ecole Lane is prohibited during these times.

3. No Left Turn from Ecole Street into Ecole Lane

  • No left turn permitted
8.00am–9.30am and 2.30pm–4.00pm on school days.
