    Council sought community feedback on its Draft Historical Markers Policy. The intention of the Historical Markers Policy is to provide a guide to the creation, maintenance and renewal of historical markers in the Georges River Local Government Area.


     
  • Draft Code of Conduct and Associated Administrative Procedures

    Georges River Council sought community feedback on its Draft Code of Conduct and Associated Administrative Procedures.

    The Code of Conduct sets the minimum requirements of conduct for council officials in carrying out their functions. The Code of Conduct is based on the Office of Local Government’s “Model Code of Conduct”, with slight amendments to include Georges River Council’s intentions for a minimum tolerance of the acceptance of gifts by staff.

    The Code of Conduct is accompanied by Model Procedures for the administration of the Code.
  • Draft Kogarah North Urban Design Strategy

    The Kogarah North Precinct is the subject of a proposed New City Plan amendment to the Kogarah Local Environmental Plan 2012 (LEP), which will introduce new planning controls that allow for a greater intensity of residential uses across the Precinct.

    The draft Kogarah North Urban Design Strategy has been prepared to enable the transformation of the Kogarah North Precinct to occur in a way that maintains a high quality of amenity for existing residents (through the transition) and future residents.
  • Public Exhibition of Planning Proposal - Nos. 108, 112 and 124 Forest Road and 1 and 3 Wright Street, Hurstville (PP2014/0004)

    Georges River Council exhibited a Planning Proposal to amend Hurstville Local Environmental Plan 2012 in relation to Nos. 108, 112 and 124 Forest Road and 1 and 3 Wright Street, Hurstville.
  • Draft Mayor and Councillors Expenses and Facilities Policy

    In accordance with Section 253 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council sought community feedback on its Draft Mayor and Councillors Expenses and Facilities Policy.

    The purpose of this policy is to ensure accountability and transparency in the reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred or to be incurred by Councillors. The policy also ensures that reasonable facilities are provided to assist Councillors to carry out their civic duties.

  • Draft Property Asset Strategy and Business Plan

    The purpose of this Draft Property Asset Strategy and Business Plan is to outline a holistic approach to align Council real assets to the Community Strategic Plan deliverables, and manage the income generated from the portfolio to secure the long term financial health of the organisation.

  • Draft Community Lease Policy

    The purpose of this Draft Policy is to provide a framework through which Council can determine the eligibility of community groups to occupy Council owned and managed land and buildings (such as community centres, scout and guide halls) in an equitable and transparent manner and in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.

    The Draft Policy also includes Council owned sporting and recreational facilities which may or may not be capable of supporting a commercial return. These include (but are not limited to) Jubilee Stadium, aquatic facilities, golf courses, tennis courts, Hurstville Oval and Harold Fraser Oval. The leasing of these types of facilities will be subject to an open and competitive public process such as tender or expression of interest.

  • Draft Community Engagement Documents

    Community Engagement Policy, Community Engagement Strategy, and Community Strategic Plan Engagement Strategy

    Council sought community feedback on the Draft Community Engagement Policy, Community Engagement Strategy and Community Strategic Plan Engagement Strategy. These draft documents will be used to guide future consultation projects undertaken by Georges River Council.

  • Draft Complaints Policy

    Council sought community feedback on its Draft Complaints Policy which has been developed to create a ‘customer focused’ complaint management system. This Policy sets out how Council will receive and handle complaints from external customers about Council.
  • Draft Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy

    Council sought community feedback on its Draft Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy which has been developed to establish a framework through which Council can consider its freehold property assets and make decisions using a systematic, open and transparent approach to land acquisition and disposal.

    This policy ensures decision made are best value, maximise returns by either realising a commercial level of financial return or fulfilling a community benefit aligned to the visions of the Community Strategic Plan or a combination thereof.
