In accordance with Section 253 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council sought community feedback on its Draft Mayor and Councillors Expenses and Facilities Policy. The purpose of this policy is to ensure accountability and transparency in the reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred or to be incurred by Councillors. The policy also ensures that reasonable facilities are provided to assist Councillors to carry out their civic duties.
The purpose of this Draft Property Asset Strategy and Business Plan is to outline a holistic approach to align Council real assets to the Community Strategic Plan deliverables, and manage the income generated from the portfolio to secure the long term financial health of the organisation.
The purpose of this Draft Policy is to provide a framework through which Council can determine the eligibility of community groups to occupy Council owned and managed land and buildings (such as community centres, scout and guide halls) in an equitable and transparent manner and in accordance with relevant legislative requirements. The Draft Policy also includes Council owned sporting and recreational facilities which may or may not be capable of supporting a commercial return. These include (but are not limited to) Jubilee Stadium, aquatic facilities, golf courses, tennis courts, Hurstville Oval and Harold Fraser Oval. The leasing of these types of facilities will be subject to an open and competitive public process such as tender or expression of interest.
Council sought community feedback on its Draft Property Acquisition and Disposal Policy which has been developed to establish a framework through which Council can consider its freehold property assets and make decisions using a systematic, open and transparent approach to land acquisition and disposal. This policy ensures decision made are best value, maximise returns by either realising a commercial level of financial return or fulfilling a community benefit aligned to the visions of the Community Strategic Plan or a combination thereof.
Welcome to Georges River Council. How can we help?
